An animal lover myself, I decided to devote this month's column to a couple of shaggy-dog (or cat) stories from our members. Syra Novak of Boston Chapter and Aeroindustryjobs described a recent cat story, hilarious-at least to those of us who are owned by cats: "Two of our cats like to lie in what we call, The Basket of Love,' a pillow-lined basket which sits in the big sunny bay window in the kitchen. The two are Finster, our giant (18 lbs of muscle) talkative Siamese and Norbert our diminutive (7 lbs of the exact same color as orange-vanilla swirl ice cream) overly-sensitive cat who compulsively bathes anyone around him no matter the species. These two cram into a basket that barely holds one, piled on top of one another-cleaning and sleeping and generally being overly-intimate and vaguely disquieting, every single morning.
