3M, based in St. Paul, MN, recently announced it is breaking ground on an expansion of its Cordova, IL, manufacturing facility. The plant manufactures a wide variety of specialty chemicals and adhesives, including 3M's Novec brand products, designed as a safe, sustainable chemistry to replace ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases. 3M credits the need for expansion to increased market demand for sustainable technology.
