Commission issue 20 market surveillance action priorities for 2013-2014

To smooth the way for a new single regulation on market surveillance of consumer products across the European Union and the European Free Trade Area (EFTA), (see above) a multi-annual action plan describing actions the Commission will take over the next 2 years was also released on 13 February. This describes 20 actions it will be undertake, many of these have the same goals as the new draft regulation in fostering a more effective, better coordinated market surveillance structure across the community and may indeed feed into it at a later date.
