NIOSH issues approvals for CBRN respirators

WASHINGTON-NIOSH recently issued the first two certificates of approval for air-purifying escape respirators with chemical,biological,radiological and nuclear protection.The action allows the respirator manufacturers - Pittsburgh-based MSA and Frederica,DE-based ILC Dover - to label the approved devices as NIOSH-certified for occupational use.It does not constitute a commercial endorsement of the product,the agency said.
