Washington - The Senate on Aug. 7 confirmed Kelvin James Cochran as head of the U.S. Fire Administration. Cochran, a 28-year veteran of the fire service, is former vice president of the Fairfax, VA-based International Association of Fire Chiefs. He formerly served as fire chief for the city of Atlanta. President Barack Obama nominated Cochran on July 28.
