NIOSH extends comment period on respirator rulemaking

Washington - NIOSH is extending the comment period until Oct. 9 on its notice of proposed rulemaking on quality assurance requirements for respirators. The proposed rule, published in the Dec. 10 Federal Register, seeks to add quality management to the quality control process for respirator design for manufacturers. The proposed rule would allow for the updating of respirator sampling plans and standards applications procedures.
