Washington - EPA has altered new safety measures pertaining to soil fumigant pesticides. The agency last year announced new measures intended to protect agriculture workers and others from soil fumigants - pesticides incorporated into the soil that form a gas that kills several types of soil-borne pests in fields. However, these pesticides can cause a wide range of health problems in workers, from respiratory irritation to more severe and irreversible effects.
