IT BEGAN AS A TYPICAL DAY IN KINSTON,NC.Then there was a sound of rolling thunder.An explosion ripped through the West Pharmaceutical Services Inc.plant early afternoon on Jan.29,2003.Siding on the second story of the structure was blown off and a fireball shot out.Windows of a nearby school were shattered by the blast,and burning debris carried by the wind ignited small fires as far as 2 miles away from the plant.
