Truck cooling: Results of experiments with a wall of wind this summer have researchers smiling

A SIMPLE SYSTEM FOR cooling pigs in trucks is a win-win-win for producers, packers and - most importantly - the P'gs.And there couldn't have been a better summer for testing the cooling system than the summer of 2012, which has sent the mercury soaring to new heights. The engineers on the project have created a wall of wind, two fans high, six fans to a row, arranged to blow into the ten compartments of a pot belly truck to cool off the pigs on hot days, while the trucks are idling at a packing plant, waiting to unload.
