摘要

A worldwide shortage of lemons and limes has created export demand for New Zealand grown crop.First Fresh managing director in Gisborne, Ian Albers, who has responsibility for the company's export of lemons and citrus, says, "The lemon shortage is largely due to frosts in California and Argentina, while the lime shortage earlier this season was because of a crop failure in Mexico.""We are getting a demand that we haven't traditionally seen from South East Asia and China for New Zealand lemons because of the frosts. We service our traditional customers,Japan and the United States, first and then take opportunities that will lead to on-going business that we can back up next season. For us this is China and Malaysia."
