Orbital floor fractures (OFF) are frequently repaired by alloplastic implants covering the orbital defect without making use of local bone lying beneath the implants. The interiorly displaced orbital bone can be used to reconstruct the orbital floor by inserting an anatomically shaped maxillary sinus balloon (MSB) via transantral approach.1 We preliminarily studied the quality of orbital floor reconstruction by anatomic MSB on three patients with unilateral OFF. Clinical findings such as visual acuity, diplopia, and enophthalmos were recorded. A CT scan pre-operatively and a cone beam computer tomography post-operatively were performed. The individual orbital size, the area of orbital floor and fracture area were measured as previously described.2'3 The pre- and post-operative orbital volume of the fractured side and unaffected side were measured using OsiriX? Medical Image software.
