Quantitative characteristics of anisotropy induced by elliptically polarized light in media on the basis of azo dyes with orientational trans-cis isomerization are studied. Anomalous dispersion of light-induced birefringence was observed. Variations of the absorption coefficients as functions of the ellipticity angle of radiation acting in three orthogonal directions are also studied. Regularity of conservation of the volume of the absorption indicatrix in the process of exposure at the wavelength of acting radiation is found.
