Effect of Dispersion on the Transformation of a Gaussian Pulse in a Periodically Nonuniform Fiber

For a Gaussian frequency-modulated pulse traveling in a two-mode periodic fiber, characteristic features of transformation of time envelopes of mode components are studied. The analysis takes into account the material and the intermode dispersion and different types of fiber excitation.
