摘要

Methodical aspects of a promising new method for plasma diagnostics are considered. Expressions are obtained for calculation of rate constants of coherent ordering of angular moments of excited states of atoms due to collisions under the assumption of the collisional nature of the linear polarization observed. Stokes parameters induced in the collision system are related to analogous quantities recorded by an observer on the Earth.
