The problem on reflection and transmission of plane harmonic waves at a plane interface of uniform linear anisotropic media is considered within the framework of macroscopic electrodynamics. An ingenious method is proposed for the derivation of expressions for the amplitude transmission and reflection coefficients. Simple exact formulas for these coefficients can readily be obtained in most practical cases by using this method. It is based on the use of orthogonality relations for polarization characteristics of natural waves in anisotropic media found in [1-3]. Simple general expressions are obtained for components of the amplitude transmission and reflection 2 * 2 matrices for interfaces between an "arbitrary medium and nonabsorbing medium and between an arbitrary medium and centrocymmetric medium" in terms of polarization characteristics of natural waves in these media.
