On the Possibility of Improving the Limiting Resolution of a Ring Laser

A method for improving the limiting resolution of a geophysical ring laser by increasing the radiation power in a limited lasing range has been proposed. This method is based on the use of coupled cavities and a second optical transition that competes with the main transition through a common energy level.
