In this paper, a tunable fan Solc filter based on Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) with a free spectral range of 50 GHz is synthesized from the reflected response of a sampled fiber Bragg grating. The rotation angles, the element length and the number of Solc birefringent plates are reconstructed using the Directed Tabu Search method. The same algorithm is used to optimize different negative electric fields distributed along the z-direction in order to have the same spectral tuning ranges previously obtained when submitting a Bragg grating to different temperature gradients. The refractive index of the Solc filter is supposed along its extraordinary axis. (C) 2015 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
