Formulas ofthetransferfunctionsandtheoutputpowergainsarepresented,amplifyingcharacteristics are analyzed,andsimulationisperformedforanEr3+–Yb3+-co-dopedmicroringresonator.Underthe pump wavelengthof980nmandthecentralsignalwavelengthof1550nm,thedependenceofthe outputpowergainontheamplitudecouplingratio,pumppower,signalpower,andthedopant concentrationisinvestigated,theoutputspectraarepresented,andtheoptimizationofthedeviceis carriedout.Simulatedresultsshowthattheoutputpowergainofthisdeviceismuchlargerthanthatof the Er3+–Yb3+-co-dopedstraightwaveguideamplifier(EYCDWA)withthesamewaveguideparameters.
