The advantages of using pipe fittings as opposed to flanged connections become evident not only by comparing relevant costs but also when installing special pipe fittings such as angle or tee pieces, bulkhead fittings and valves. To illustrate the rational use of these special connectors in pipe system installations a cost comparison may he made between a tee piece and a corresponding flanged header.
