IN THE MIDST OF THE COLD and snow perched on a mountainside in remote British Columbia,I'm pondering on why all the celebratory days and their corresponding merchandising opportunities that are held during winter are in honour of Medieval Catholic Saints.What's even more imponderable is that these are the only special days in the year named after real or imagined people,at least in Canada.Columbus,Washington,Martin Luther King and Guy Fox don't count for purposes of this article.
