Self-supporting hydraulic chucking systems - an application field for miniaturised hydraulic components

The dominant feature in the development of mansfacturing centres in recent years has been the increase in the degree of automation. Small production batches and the desire for a large number of machining steps which can he carried out from onechucking operation place great demands in terms of flexibility, not only on the machine tool itself but also on the chucking techniques. This article describes some newly-developed components for power by wire chucking systems and a systematic optimisingstrategy for pressure control.
