Flow assurance in Middle East wet gas fields

WET GAS FIELDS today are an important provider of the world's gas needs, with the Middle East being no exception. From the Khuff reservoir and giant Shah field, offshore Abu Dhabi, through to Qatar's Al Khaleej gas project and - in North Africa - Morocco's Meskala field, wet gas fields are increasingly prominent in the region. Yet, such fields also represent some of the world's most challenging environments for oil and gas production measurement and flow control, with the detection of formation water and water coning crucial to hydrate, scale and corrosion prevention and the reliable supply of gas from reservoir to refinery.
