摘要

Pretreatment of Populus tremula L.wood chips with white-rot fungi was carried out and its effect on the chemical composition was investigated.Phanerochaete chrysosporium,which preferentially attacks the lignin component of wood,was used in the study.Mycelia of P.chrysosporium fungus were inoculated to chips of P.tremula,then,according to TAPPI standards,chemical analyses were made on the samples collected at first day as a control (untreated),after 20,40 and 60 days.The morphological properties were also studied.According to the results of chemical analyses,P.chrysosporium significantly reduced the amounts of lignin and cellulose,the major components of the cell walls.On the other hand,no indication on the degradation of the cellulose content by this fungus was indicated.According to fiber measurement of P. tremula,it has short fibers,thin cell walls,large lumens and typical hardwood characteristics.
