Development of interferon γ-based immunocytokines targeting renal cancer.

Advanced renal cancer is an incurable malignancy in need of novel therapeuticavenues. We have generated interferon γ (IFNγ)-based fusion antibodies(immunocytokines) that target CD70, a putative biomarker of renal cancer. Theseimmunocytokines efficiently labeled renal cancer cells, and, when combined withthe proteasome inhibitor bortezomib, killed them by activating a RIP1-dependentnecrotic pathway.
