Yurii Sergeevich Dolotov (On His 80th Birthday)

February 28, marked the 80th birthday of Yurii Sergeevich Dolotov, a well-known scientist in the field of Earth Sciences, deputy chief editor of the journal Okeanologiya, doctor of geographical sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and chief researcher of the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.In 1954, Dolotov graduated from the Geographical Faculty of Moscow State University and entered a PhD program at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. Here, under the supervision of the well-known marine geologist V.P. Zenkovich, he chose his path in science, devoting himself to studying the processes in the coastal sea zone and problems of rational use of the resources of the World Ocean.
