The US Congress and several states have started taking a serious look at low-carbon fuel standards with a view to reducing the carbon footprint associated with production, refining and combustion of oil.Such policies would require refiners to lower the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other products they produce.
