摘要

India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) has relinquished its interest in Block 5B in Sudan after the failure of an initial exploration program in 2008. The Indian state firm returned its 24.5% stake rather than sign up for a second exploration phase on the block, which is operated by White Nile Petroleum Operating Co. (WNPOC). It is unclear whether Malaysia's Petronas, with a 39% majority stake in WNPOC, has also exited the acreage.
