UN Under-Secretary-General Urges Corporations to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals

Her Excellency UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary, UNESCAP Dr. Shamshad Akhtar shared her experiences with the audience. While laying foundation for the sustainable goals for India in 2015 and beyond, she spoke about how important it is to ensure deeper and irreversible economic and human progress, the architecture for the post-2015 development agenda calls for a rethink and redesign of development policy frameworks. She said that instead of relying on a segregated approach to development, this round of global development advocates a holistic and integrated approach to economic, social and environmental concerns.
