Gazprom Spuds India Well

Russia’s Zarubezhneftegas, Gazprom’s overseas subsidiary, said Tuesday it has spudded a third exploration well in Block 26 in the Bay of Bengal off India. The NEC-W-1 well will be drilled to 3,200 meters by the Hakuryu-5 semi-submersible drilling rig under a contract with Japan Drilling Co. signed in January. Work, including well tests, is expected to take around five months.
