Business leaders said on Wednesday it would be "unrealistic" for the US to try to eliminate oil imports in the foreseeable future, but they recommended several measures to reduce dependence on oil and boost the nation's energy security. A report published by the Business Roundtable, a coalition of 160 US chief executives, said the US has lost considerable leverage in the energy arena in recent years because increasing shares of the world's oil and gas reserves are controlled by national oil companies.
