A US appeals court vacated and remanded the federal government's existing 2007-2012 schedule of offshore oil and gas lease sales on Friday, thus opening the possibility for the Bush-era plan to be thrown out or modified. The order places the existing schedule on hold and directs Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to reconsider the plan.
