Drilling contractor Hercules Offshore, which announced its agreement to acquire Seahawk Drilling for $105 million last month, has secured contracts for two of its 200-foot mat cantilever rigs and one 250-foot mat slot rig in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the company’s latest rig status report. The dayrates for the rigs were in the mid- $30,000 range and low-$30,000 range, respectively. Additionally, Hercules reported two new barge rig contracts in the low- $20,000 range.
