UK's Rockhopper Sets Out Falklands Exploration Drilling Program

UK-listed Rockhopper Exploration is gearing up to drill an exploration well off the Falkland Islands in January after securing the Ocean Guardian rig for at least two optional drilling slots in the northern basin. In a statement on Monday, Rockhopper said that the first well, 14/10-3, will explore the untested "northern lobe" of the so-called Sea Lion fan system, named after the firm's earlier Sea Lion discovery.
