Oslo Raises Oil Price Forecast, Citing Demand in Emerging Markets

Oslo has hiked its estimate for Norwegian crude oil prices this year by just over 11% to an average of 475 kroner ($76.80) per barrel, citing rising oil demand in emerging markets such as China. In a revised budget statement Tuesday, the Norwegian government said the new figure is 50 kroner/bbl higher than its estimate last October. It expects prices to be similar next year before dropping to nearer $67/bbl in 2012.
