In July 2007,Taylor Energy Co.chairman and chief executive Phyllis Taylor made the difficult decision to sell the offshore assets of the company founded by her late husband Patrick F.Taylor in'1979.The New Orleans-based E&P grew to become one of the largest privately owned oil and gas producers in the Gulf of Mexico before his death in 2004.
