Industry watchers say that today three-quarters of the estimated 800 drilling rigs supposedly spread across Russia are obsolete or pretty close to obsolete. If a rig's useful life is about 25 years, and most of Russia's fleet is of a late 1980s, early 1990s vintage - well, you do the math. I get a demand for 600 rigs more or less.
