In the push to liquids, remarkably the smallest U.S. producers have the greatest advantage in affecting their cash flow from higher-margin oil, which was trading at some 26 times that of natural gas on Nymex at press time. "A company our size, we can scale up pretty quickly, whereas, for a bigger company, it's harder to move the needle," says Rob Turnham, president and chief operating officer of Goodrich Petroleum Corp. "We can see the results flow through the income statement quite rapidly."
