Fugro Smartpipe~R Enables In-Situ Pipe-Soil Interaction Measurment in Deep Water

Very soft clays in deep water are difficult to sample and characterize,particularly in the uppermost half meter of soil,where most of the deep water flowlines interact with the soil.A few years ago,Fugro developed the idea of performing in-situ pipe-soil interaction tests on a small pipe section.In order to ensure that the end product would meet industry expectations,Fugro joined with BP to develop this tool.
