The seep/spill allegedly associated with an appraisal well being drilled by operator Chevron Brasil Upstream Frade Ltda (Chevron), off the coast of Brazil, appears to have abated. Chevron reports that it "stopped the source of the seep flow within only four days of first detection" and, as of 23 November 2011, estimated the volume of oil remaining on the water surface at about 1 barrel (42 gallons).
