DuraSeal plug valves are specified, illustrated, and described in this free six page brochure. They are emphasized to seal mechanically. During rotation of the plug there is no abrasion or wear between sealing surfaces. When the slips reach closed position, they expand firmly into the valve body. This creates a primary elastomeric and secondary metal-to-metal backup seal. "DuraSeal doesn't require sealant under any circumstance to seal," notes the literature.
