Digital sensor surveillance extends wireline service life

The design comprises an electronic sensor attached onto an eddy current flaw detection system. The sensor accurately pinpoints any integrity issues as a wireline test is run — and stores information on a secure digital (SD) card. Data can be viewed on a monitor for clear indication plus exact location of any wireline defect. Traditionally wireline integrity has been manually inspected in stages using an eddy current flaw detection system and the naked eye, or has been replaced after a fixed period by operators — irrespective of whether a defect exists or not.
