Weekly average prices of OPEC basket in February 2010 shown in the figure below fluctuated between $70.6/bbl to $75.3/bbl a level that reached in the last week of the month.Monthly OPEC ReferenceBasketfell by $3.0/bor 3.9% comparing with previous month to average $73/b in February, a level that is 76.3% or $31.6/bbl higher than a year ago. The decline was mainly attributed to growing concern about the economic recovery triggered by sovereign debt issues in the Euro-zone, particularly in Greece.
