Inkjet digital decoration technology is widely considered to be "mature", and the sales and usage data for dedicated machinery suggest that we are at the beginning of a new period of consolidated sales worldwide. However, I believe that this technology is likely to undergo much more research and development and will reach true maturity in a few years time. The adjectives most widely used for digital decoration at the conference in Fiorano words like "established", "accepted" and "widely used". More than one speaker focused on the concept of Full Digital, with reference to dry decoration and high-discharge printing. I noted a number of major themes that emerged repeatedly in the presentations. I summarise them below... obviously leaving the speakers themselves the responsibility for their statements!
