Carbon black business helps Cabot sales, profits rise

Cabot Corp. reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $66 million on sales of $846 million. For the year-ago period, the firm reported profit of $60 milllion on sales of $836 million. "Our rubber blacks business continues to benefit from the implementation of our value pricing initiatives and our investments in yield and energy efficiency technology," President and CEO Patrick Prevost said.
