The design of EPDM for sponge bulb profiles is the most demanding of all applications in automotive weatherstrip. The dynamic sealing characteristics of the profile provide NVH dampening and weather resistance to the interior cabin and must provide functional sealing under a variety of extreme conditions (temperature, vibrational load, aging, etc). The performance of the weatherstrip that car passengers experience can be distinguished from compact to luxury vehicles in terms of wind noise, vibrations, door and glass rattles, etc.
