Bridgestone to withdraw from marine hose market

Bridgestone Corp, Japan's top tyre maker, said it would stop making marine hoses after finding improper transactions in an investigation into an international cartel, and that it had uncovered similar cases related to other products.Last May, eight executives, including one from Bridgestone, were arrested in the US on charges of bid-rigging and price-fixing in the market for marine hoses, which are used to move oil between tankers, storage facilities and buoys.
