摘要

A key component in industrial quality control, as well as applied scientific research, is the gathering of reliable data by means of a measurement procedure. The importance of this data leads to the development of new measurement methods that will be superior in terms of reduced cost and time, easier to administer, more accurate and/or more precise (ref.1). In many instances, there are multitudes of methods that may be used to measure a common property, such as polyurethane foam (PUF) hardness. Choosing such a method is dictated by many economic and scientific factors. Thus, the choice between alternative method for measuring foam hardness is both a technical and economic consideration.
