The Smithers Group,Akron,OH,an independent testing,consulting and contract research organization,has closed a deal to purchase the U.K.'s Rapra Technology Ltd.The terms of the transaction were undisclosed.Rapra becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Smithers Group,which comprises Smithers Scientific Services,Smithers Quality Assessments,Springborn Laboratories and Synomics Pharma Services.
