The changes that have occurred in the agrophysical properties of the alluvial soils during more than 40 years of intensive use for vegetable growing was conducted in 1992-93 and 1999 in the floodplain of the upper reach of the Oka River (Moscow Oblast, Kahirskoe TOO), Russia. A degradative trend was shown to exist in the changes in the alluvial soil physical properties under intensive utilization for vegetable growing in row crop rotations. The main degradative process in floodplains included soil mass disaggregation, compaction and dehumification.
