UKRAINIAN IRON ORE MINES REDUCE OUTPUT IN 8 MTHS

Most Ukrainian mining companies reduced iron ore production significantly in January-August, however the decline here, as in the steel industry, still appears to be slowing. Poltava Mining, the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, cut commercial pellet production tentatively 6.4% year-on-year to 5.621 million tonnes, Ferrexpo said in a press release. Iron ore concentrate production fell 6.4% to 6.827 million tonnes, including 931,300 tonnes in August.
